What is a Snoedel?

Snoedel makes a wonderful first-time friend for your little one. The Snoedel (a Dutch term, pronounced Snoodle or Snoodel, meaning Snuggle) is a unique doll-like sleeping and bonding aid. By keeping the Snoedel close to your skin, your scent is absorbed through the special wool and all natural fabrics used in creating the doll. After mom or dad keeps the doll close for a few days -- usually by sleeping with it -- the Snoedel doll will absorb the parent's scent. (For the Snoedel doll to work well, the parent's scent must be refreshed every week by rubbing the Snoedel next to your skin.) When placed with your baby, your scent is slowly released through the doll's natural fibers. Your baby will always know you're near!

Hospitals find that Snoedels have been particularly helpful for premature babies who are often separated from their parents right after birth and who may benefit from having the scent of mom or dad right next to their skin.
